So I was watching The Today Show yesterday, I just happened to turn it on while my boyfriend was out,
The Today show always has these interesting sometimes inspiring stories.
Im just watching, and waiting for something to come on and they introduce this story about this 90 year old couple,
Barbara and Harry Cooper,
A couple who are completely in love after 72 years of marriage.
They call them "The Ogs" or "The Original Grandparents"
But what makes them unique is their grand daughters one day decided to make a facebook page and started videotaping them doing various things like reviewing a certain restaurant to talking about current issues.
Their videos posted first on facebook soon went viral becoming an internet sensation.
Having been a CNA for 2 years and worked with the elderly, I latched on to the story, hook, line and sinker.
Here are some quotes from a fellow reporter
"In "PopPop's Adventure Corner," viewers look on as [Harry Cooper, 98,]discovers modern marvels like the iPod (He calls it his "music box.") In "Ask Grandma Anything," they get style advice from [93-year-old Barbara Cooper, known as] Cutie, a bold fashionista who was recently kicked out of the dining room at the couple's retirement home for wearing leggings that were, [granddaughter Kim Cooper] admits, 'too sexy.'
"Thousands of fans from around the world have tuned in to watch the couple opine on such topics such as time travel ('it's possible'), lesbians ('just do your thing') and Michael Jackson ('He was a very unhappy young man who didn't know if he was fish or fowl.')"
Barbara or (Cutie) as she is called on her blog views on Lady Gaga's latest video "Alejandro"" 'Shocked? I'm annoyed. She was a waste of my time. I'm sorry, maybe the whole world thinks she's great, and people who know talent will recognize what she has got to offer. She isn't doing anything new. It's the same thing that we have seen, only take offs.
[Cutie, do you have some constructive criticism for Lady Gaga?] Sure. Lady Gaga, get yourself a good agent and go to school and get some talent! What? I think that's constructive criticism!' "
